EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
Steps in plan development
- Emergency Management Plans (EMP) Assessment + Development
- STEP ONE: Initiate an Emergency Preparedness Assessment (update or creation) of the Current EMP & Crisis Management Plan to update, refresh and assure adherence to the National Response Framework, NIMS (the National Information Management System) and structured to the Incident Command System Framework through an Emergency Planning audit. STEP TWO: After identifying the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats of the current Emergency Management Plan, an Improvement Plan will be developed.
STEP THREE: The initial Improvement Plan will be introduced to each team through work-shopping, and the parameters of the plans will be tested through tabletop and physical exercises.
STEP FOUR: A program is developed which integrates the plan into every day processes thus eliminating the common practice of Emergency Operations Plans collecting dust on a shelf.
